Spiral sells vinyl records and could presumably be located in more urban areas of the US. Spiral is more of a gothic and alternative style, often selling more records that fit into the broad spectrum of the indie genre. Their main audience is often young adults, typically college students.
I decided to use Blackletter typeface to give the brand a more gothic type of style. The typeface I used is the brush style of LeKick, with some edits made to individual letters so the logo would be easier to read. The “vinyl records” description is meant to directly contrast the main Blackletter text. The typeface used is Montserrat thin and is much less noticeable than the very stylistic “spiral” typeface.
The primary color used (#3e295c) is a shade of deep purple meant to contribute to the gothic and almost royal aesthetic of Spiral. The shade of red used (#7D2027) is mainly a method to support and highlight the main color and be an appealing and vivid contrast. The final color (#ece5dd) is least used, and mainly used as a highlight for the eye within the logo. It serves as a lighter color, to keep the logo from being completely darker colors.
